<p class="wp-block-paragraph translation-block">In Linz, a short street has been named after Ludwig Wittgenstein since 2023 (formerly Porscheweg). Wittgenstein attended the Realschule in Steingasse from 1903 to 1906 and lived in Waltherstraße during that time. Commemorative plaques at both locations mark his years in Linz. Another plaque can be found at the school’s present-day site in Fadingerstraße.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph translation-block">In Vienna, Wittgensteinstraße is named after Hermann Christian Wittgenstein, his grandfather. In Trattenbach, there is a hiking trail known by the same name, Wittgensteinweg.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph translation-block">At this spot stood the house in which the young philosopher Otto Weininger took his own life in 1903. Weininger’s work, published by Braumüller and brought to great prominence through his suicide, influenced numerous well-known figures of the turn of the century, including Ludwig Wittgenstein, who explicitly names Weininger as one of his influences.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It was, incidentally, the same house in which Ludwig van Beethoven died in 1827, a fact now marked by a memorial plaque.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A memorial plaque at the former location of the secondary school in Steingasse, Linz, which Ludwig Wittgenstein attended from 1903 to 1906 (now a hotel), honours both Wittgenstein and Adalbert Stifter, one of Upper Austria's most famous writers, who is listed as the founder of the school.</p>
