Otto Weininger, Schwarzspanierstraße 15

In this building at Schwarzspanierstraße 15, the young philosopher Otto Weininger took his own life in 1903. His work, which gained widespread attention in Vienna following his suicide, influenced many notable figures of the fin de siècle—among them Ludwig Wittgenstein, who explicitly named Weininger as one of his intellectual influences.

The same location also marks the site where Ludwig van Beethoven died in 1827, commemorated today by a memorial plaque.
