After working as a primary school teacher in Lower Austria, Ludwig Wittgenstein was briefly employed as a gardener at a convalescent home run by the Brothers Hospitallers in Vienna-Hütteldorf. One source (Janik & Veigl, 1998) gives the address as Linzer Straße 66. However, there is strong evidence to suggest that the correct address is Linzer Straße 466, as this location is historically documented. A comparison between a publication by the Brothers Hospitallers—which mentions Wittgenstein and includes a drawing of the building—and the still-existing structure at Linzer Straße 466 supports this assumption.
